Notes

No further lineage info available other than aud>?>CDR>EAC>SHN by jtjames@pacbell.net

There were numerous cuts in the tape (between every song in the first set, plus tape flips in the second). These were crossfaded or, in a few cases, audience noise was flown in from another part of the show to replace the missing time where a smooth crossfade could not be accomplished due to lack of adequate material. The entire show was hard limited to 7 dB. No further alterations such as EQ or NR were made. There are a couple places, particularly in Drums wher ethe mics were overloaded by a large amount of bass from the PA. There are also a couple digital flaws (a buzz, kind of a lightsaber type sound) that could not be removed.

Oh, the boys, our lovable knuckleheads, can't quite get a handle on a few things ('Row Jimmy' - hee hee hee...)but, do we give a rodent's posterior? Nay, for we are all Bozos on this Bus! The energy at this, yet another in 3,000 harebrained hippie schemes, is WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT CHILLEN. Everybody's playin' all liltin' and brassy, and PHIL yer cup full of bottom goodness 'cause he knocked shit off my shelves today during 'Slipknot' - The sound is nice 'n' bright and loud, just what early '80's shows sounded like. Why - I guess that makes this recording a real slice of Authentic Grateful Dead Music.

Subject: Memorable
I recall this particular show for a few reasons. It was an odd venue. There was a riser in the back that we started on. I don't recall anything about the roof as other heads have commented on.
It was extremely high energy.
I moved up front at the start of the second set and was very close to the stage.
I was close. Towards the end of the Women are Smarter Jam, Weir runs offstage.
I guess he felt it was time for drums...maybe he had to piss, who knows.
Jerry keeps the jam going and segues into Eyes. Bobby trots back onstage.
I was so high at this point, albeit extremely lucid. Jerry looks right at me as he begins the first notes of Eyes and smiles.
It was like he brought Bobby back onstage with the musical statement "I'm not done yet".
This might be one of my favorite Eyes of the World.

Subject: The music never stopped!
The one thing I remember about this show is how we danced just about the entire show without stopping because the band never seemed to. Took a bus from SUNY Buffalo and drank plenty on the way. My buddy looked at me and said "I'm not even tripping and I can't stop dancing!" It was that good. Kind of figured out exactly what all the hype was about at that show, they were really tight that night and they just never stopped. Thanks archives and all you tapers for being able to relive this 25 years later, it is just as smokin' as I remember!

Subject: Show? OK, but the sound is HUGE
Pretty damn good show, but the highlight here is the recording itself. Big and booming, this thing will make you very grateful you added that subwoofer to your system. By all means play this one and play it loud. Phil is calling.
